As I continue along my road to becoming ?a well connected professional I am reminded that the journey I’m on is not just about the information and insights I’m gaining but also about the process. The process I’m using is constantly expanding as I am introduced to another on-line tool or site to help me trip over ?fascinating, and sometimes not so fascinating, pieces of information.
Today I was sent a URL via Reddit?http://www.reddit.com/?which caught my attention. The tittle alluded to using a virus to deliver gene therapy to the retina. Having a retinal condition and having had gene testing in an attempt to try and diagnose what I have, it piqued my interest. I read the article and Scooped ?it for my Scoopit ?Retina ?topic section?http://www.scoop.it/u/lorne-kashin?. Aside from coming across this really interesting research I am now aware of the web site?http://www.sci-news.com/?s=retina?which has a couple of other retina related posts.
During the past few weeks I have had two patients tell me they visited my blog and Scoopit site. The few things I have posted there were read by them and found to be an asset to them in their quest to educate themselves about the eye care they require. So here I am showing my professional learning to my colleagues, stakeholders in eye care, and my current and potential clients.
Have a look at this post and pass it on to our growing community of? Connected Opticians.
